Draft day is the biggest day in any young football player’s life. That’s the day all of their dreams come true as they anxiously watch the NFL draft while awaiting a phone call from an NFL team regarding their future destination.
Whether it is the first pick of the draft or the Mr. Irrelevant, it is a special day.
The Washington Commanders added eight players through the 2022 NFL draft, from first-round pick Jahan Dotson to seventh-round selection Christian Holmes.
The Commanders released a social media video showing head coach Ron Rivera calling each of Washington’s eight selections and showed the players celebrating with friends and families.
All celebrations were fun to watch, but perhaps the most emotional were Dotson celebrating with his parents, and seventh-round selection Chris Paul fighting back tears before proclaiming, “We’re going to the Washington Commanders.”
How does Dotson feel about being the first-ever draft pick of the Commanders:
“I would love that,” he told Rivera. “I would love that.”
Enjoy.
