Kansas City Chiefs players are managing to keep busy during the break between mandatory minicamp and training camp. Even with all of the free time on their hands, they’re keeping atop their fitness for the upcoming season.
Clyde Edwards-Helaire stopped for a workout at Elite Training Academy in his hometown of Baton Rouge, Louisiana — where he also attended LSU. He trained with Skillz Evolution SOUTH coach Craig Brodie during the workout, which seemed to be very route-running-centric.
In the video, you can see Edwards-Helaire working on some different releases, as well as working on getting in and out of his breaks. You can see him doing a variety of different drills to improve his balance and foot quickness too. He certainly looks fleet-footed and more explosive than he has in years past.
Perhaps more exciting than the workout video is the caption about Edwards-Helaire on the video shared by Brodie:
“Work ethic is UNMATCHED! Perfection is the name of the game. And he’s trying to be the best to ever do it.”
Edwards-Helaire, 23, enters his third season with the Chiefs in 2022. There are some big expectations for the former first-round draft pick and he seems to be approaching it the right way this offseason.
