Watch: Buffy star speaks out as Hulu cancels planned reboot

Buffy The Vampire Slayer star Sarah Michelle Gellar has spoken out, saying that Hulu had axed the show's reboot.

In 2025, it was reported that the beloved 90s series would return with a new show, Buffy The Vampire Slayer: New Sunnydale, directed by Oscar-winner Chloe Zhao.

The American actor, 48, shared a video on Saturday (14 March) saying the new series would no longer go ahead, claiming that the streamer decided “not to move forward."

"I want to thank Chloe Zhao because I never thought I would find myself back in Buffy’s stylish, yet affordable boots," Gellar added.
