2023 is the first year of DJ Moore’s NFL career where he hasn’t shared a locker room with Brian Burns. So, when they reunited on Thursday, they shared a warm embrace.
During warmups for tonight’s prime-time clash between the Carolina Panthers and Chicago Bears, Moore—who was traded to the Windy City this past spring—found his old friend. He didn’t hold back . . .

Both were first-round picks by the Panthers, as Moore went with the 24th overall selection in 2017 and Burns with the 16th overall selection in 2018. The two spent five seasons as teammates, through the good (which there was very little of) and the bad.
Unfortunately, Burns is inactive for the Week 10 contest. The two-time Pro Bowl pass rusher sustained a concussion in the fourth quarter of this past Sunday’s loss to the Indianapolis Colts.
But maybe that’s fortunate for Moore, Tyson Bagent and the Bears—who won’t have to face Carolina’s leader in sacks, quarterback hits and pressures.
