.@Broncos @PatSurtainll is there a better lockdown CB in the NFL today? Doesn’t matter who the assignment is…always “in phase” by the book! #BaldysBreakdowns pic.twitter.com/N05VFXu6ON

NFL Network analyst Brian Baldinger is impressed by what he’s seen from Denver Broncos cornerback Pat Surtain this season.
“Patrick Surtain is almost in a category by himself right now as far as corners that can match up and cover man-to-man,” Baldinger said in a video on his Twitter page.
Baldinger showed several clips of Surtain in coverage against the Los Angeles Chargers in a Monday Night Football matchup in Week 6.
“It’s just play after play after play,” Baldinger said after showing clips of the cornerback not allowing completions to Chargers cornerback Mike Williams.
Denver lost Monday’s game in L.A., but the defense certainly wasn’t to blame.
“This defense is just awesome,” Baldinger said. “They are really good, and Surtain is a big part of it.”
Quarterbacks are averaging a 63.9 passer rating when targeting Surtain this year, and the cornerback is yet to allow a touchdown through six games. Only in his second season, Surtain is already one of the NFL’s top CBs.
