The Seattle Seahawks have a quality signal caller leading their offense, and he does not get the proper respect he deserves. We are in Year 3 of the Geno Smith era in Seattle, and he routinely proves he is not just a capable quarterback, but a great one.
Seattle’s offense has been inconsistent at best through two weeks. Despite the Seahawks sitting in first place with a 2-0 record, Seattle has not been lighting it up. However, the one bright spot has been the play of Geno Smith.
Former Seahawks legend Richard Sherman retweeted a video breaking down how great Smith has been for these two weeks. The video is absolutely worth two minutes of every 12’s time:
Cool quick analysis showing what @GenoSmith3 is doing for this @Seahawks offense. https://t.co/8eJJLq1wuU

What stands out to me is how Smith is thriving despite the horrendous rushing attack. In Week 2, the Seahawks had a whopping 46 yards on the ground. The pass blocking has been bad too. Yet Smith continues to deliver.
Seattle unquestionably needs to find a way to improve the offensive line. Smith has been playing well enough to deserve extra support up front.
The Seahawks recently created salary cap space thanks to restructuring wide receiver DK Metcalf’s contract. Perhaps they can put that to good use and make a splash trade at the deadline.
