The Los Angeles Lakers looked to get a rare win over their Crypto.com Arena co-tenants, the Los Angeles Clippers, on Wednesday evening. But early on, prospects looked bad for them.
They fell behind by as many as 19 points in the first half as they simply couldn’t get stops and continually turned the ball over. But a spirited comeback delivered a nine-point lead in the fourth quarter, only for the Clippers to frantically force overtime.
Once there, the Lakers struggled to get and stay ahead. But a steal by Austin Reaves turned into a spectacular alley-oop dunk by LeBron James on the ensuing fast break to help them take control.

This play proved to be the cap on a thrilling 130-125 win for the Purple and Gold.
Reaves also provided another highlight earlier in the game by breaking Normal Powell’s ankles and hitting a jumper. Perhaps this contest will get him going after he struggled in the first four games of the season.
