WATCH: Aston Villa 3-1 Brentford Highlights

Aston Villa got back to winning ways after their eight game winless run came to an end tonight against Brentford at Villa Park. You can watch the Aston Villa vs Brentford highlights below.

Villa Get Back To Winning Ways With 3-1 Win Against Brentford

A perfect first half display from Aston Villa secures all three points for Aston Villa tonight. Unai Emery’s side were winless in eight games in all competitions prior to the Brentford game, with winning simply a must. They did just that with a comfortable 3-1 victory over Thomas Frank’s side.

Morgan Rogers was the man to break the deadlock 20 minutes into the first half for the hosts. The Englishman scored his fourth goal of the Premier League season, in what was another superb display in the front three for the home side.

Just seven minutes later Ollie Watkins doubled Villa’s lead from the penalty spot, scoring his seventh goal of the league campaign. It was all going swimmingly well for Villa, and their night got even better 10 minutes before the interval.

This time it was a defender who got in on the act, with Matty Cash making it 3-0 to the Villans. Cash’s goal capped off a perfect first half for Unai Emery and his side, who certainly didn’t look like a team who had failed to win their last eight consecutive matches in all competitions.

The best football betting sites in the UK has Villa as the pre-match favourites, and their display on the pitch fully justified this with a comfortable night’s work at Villa Park.

Brentford did score somewhat of a consolation goal early in the second half, with Mikkel Damsgaard finding a way past Emi Martinez to put a slight bit of anguish amongst the Villa faithful.

The Bees couldn’t find a second to really pin Villa back, with the hosts holding out to secure a 3-1 win. This was actually their first victory since the 22nd October when the beat Bologna in the Champions League.

This win means Aston Villa climb into seventh in the Premier League table, overtaking Brentford in the process who drop to nineth.

Next up for Villa is bottom side Southampton at Villa Park, with the pressure mounting on Southampton boss Russell Martin game after game. Unai Emery will fully be expecting another three points at the weekend.

Brentford meanwhile welcome Eddie Howe’s Newcastle to London, looking to bounce back to defeat against a Newcastle side who haven’t won on the road since early in November at Nottingham Forest.
