- During the chase, the suspect, Randall Baker, steered the vehicle towards a deputy attempting to deploy stop sticks, striking and damaging a patrol car.
- The semi-truck subsequently left the road and came to rest in a field, with the deputy remaining unharmed.
- Baker, 41, of Evansville, was arrested after pepperball rounds were used and is facing preliminary charges including attempted murder and operating while intoxicated.
