This is the moment an emergency mission was launched by a Scots RNLI crew who were able to rescue a dog which was stuck at the bottom of cliffs in the north east.
The dog was out for a coastal walk with its owners at Cruden Bay, Aberdeenshire, on Saturday November 12 at around 12.30pm when it got into difficulty.
The Peterhead RNLI crew was alerted and its lifeboat, The Misses Robertson of Kintail, made its way to the scene near to Slains Castle.
The UK Coastguard Rescue Team were already on site however two of the RNLI crew embarked onto a smaller speed boat to get closer to the cliffs.
Sparky the dog took some convincing but the crew eventually enticed him to come closer and the dog was recovered to the boat and reunited with his owners.
Duty Coxswain Mike Dyke said: "The footpaths along our beautiful coastline can be dangerous, and we're glad we could assist our colleagues in the Cruden Bay CRT in rescuing the stranded dog from the cliffs at Slain Castle, as it could have had a different outcome."
Crew member Sandy Garvock who showcased his dog whispering skills, added: "We were glad to be able to return Sparky to his owners safely. Great teamwork led to a successful rescue."
