LEWIS Capaldi stunned passers-by when he began busking in the middle of Buchanan Street.

The 25-year-old Someone You Loved singer set up his microphone and guitar outside the Three store on Buchanan Street on Wednesday afternoon to perform a surprise gig.

Soon a huge crowd of fans gathered to enjoy the special moment, with many capturing it on their phones.

As he began to perform his new single, Forget Me, Capaldi announced: "I'm losing my voice that's why I sound this bad."

He also had some fun with the crowd as several people walked straight through the performance, he joked that they were "obviously more fans of Ed Sheeran" before continuing.

It comes after he made a surprise performance at an open mic event and paid for the crowd's drinks.

Taking to the stage at Box Bar on Sauchiehall Street, he gave a rendition of his latest single, Forget Me.

In the video, Capaldi can be heard saying: “Alright, my name’s Lewis.

“I’ve not done an open mic in many a year.”

He later stopped mid-performance to say: “Right, before I sing this last chorus, I want to let everyone know that drinks are on me for the rest of the evening.”
