Watch as East Lothian fisherman hand feeds adorable seal a tasty treat in harbour

Adorable footage of a fisherman feeding a confident seal in Dunbar harbour has been shared by an Edinburgh couple.

Edinburgh couple, Jim Marshall and Alma McKay, visited Dunbar on Sunday February 27 and managed to capture the film and photographs as they spent their afternoon walking around the coastal town and its surrounding area.

The couple saw the cheeky seal looking for a handout and its cute looks certainly did the trick in convincing the Dunbar fisherman to give them a tasty treat.

A fisherman wearing a blue glove can be seen in the pictures throwing fish into the water so that the seal can get a snack.

The cute seal can also be seen floating in the water in the footage captured by the couple, potentially demanding more fish from the local fishermen.

It is understood that the seals of Dunbar have a symbiotic friendly relationship with their aquatic counterparts.

Jim, who works as a mechanic in Edinburgh, said: “We took a wee afternoon trip to Dunbar, starting at the Belhaven Bridge - the Bridge to Nowhere - before heading down to the Harbour to watch the fishing boats unload their catches.

“We were then graced by the appearance of two seals looking for handouts from the fishermen.

“We then continued our walk back along Dunbar High Street stopping for a coffee along the way before returning back to Belhaven bridge to watch the sunset.”

Jim and Alma were also able to snap the beautiful sunset at the ‘Bridge to Nowhere” during their day trip to Dunbar.
