Celtic loanee Shim Mheuka has scored a well-taken goal for England under-20s against France.

The striker, on loan at Parkhead from Chelsea, was named in the Three Lions youth side's starting XI for today's U20 Elite League clash.

Leading the line, the 18-year-old got off to a brilliant start by opening the scoring after just nine minutes.

Goalkeeper Ollie Whatmuff grabbed an assists, pinging a measured ball up to Mheuka, who had moved into yards of space away from the French backline.

He was able to bring the ball down on his chest and turn and accelerate away from the covering defenders.

Once he reached the edge of the box, Mheuka calmly passed the ball into the bottom left corner with a simple, side-footed finish.

Ex-Rangers loanee Mikey Moore added a second for England U20s.

Mheuka joined Celtic on loan at the end of the summer transfer window and has so far made five substitute appearances, totalling just 40 minutes. He had the ball in the net against St Mirren, only to see it disallowed for offside.

Fans would like to see more of the talented teenager after the international break.
