Few players performed better than Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr. last season. The Huskies signal-caller passed for 4,906 yards and 36 touchdowns while leading his team to the National Championship game. Washington ultimately lost to a more talented Michigan team and Penix Jr. is off to the NFL.
The Atlanta Falcons need a quarterback, but they currently hold the No. 8 overall pick and Penix Jr. isn’t considered a top-10 prospect by most scouts. The Washington QB could be an option for Atlanta in the second round, or if the team trades up into the late-first round.
Penix Jr. could help his draft stock with a good showing at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine. NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero caught up with Penix Jr. or Friday and asked him why NFL teams should be interested.
“I’m a proven winner,” said Penix Jr. “Everywhere I’ve been — obviously, it took help from teammates — but I find ways to win with my team.” Watch the full interview below:

Penix Jr. is one of the few top quarterback prospects who is going to participate in throwing drills at the scouting combine on Saturday afternoon.
