Washington offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb will be leaving the Huskies program after not being named head coach of the program.
Coach Kalen DeBoer was named Alabama’s new head coach on Friday, and all eyes turned to Grubb as one of the top options to take over the Huskies program. However, Grubb released a statement on Sunday saying he was not chosen as Washington’s new coach. He was with the program for two seasons.
“Though I wanted to be I will not be the next head coach at the University of Washington,” Grubb said.

Grubb is expected to reunite with DeBoer as he is reportedly going to be named Alabama’s new offensive coordinator, per The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman.
Feldman added that offensive lineman coach Scott Huff, wide receivers coach JaMarcus Shephard and tight ends coach Nick Sheridan are also expected to join DeBoer and Grubb in Tuscaloosa.
Washington has yet to name its new head coach following DeBoer’s departure.
