The Washington Nationals are set to bring up outfielder Dylan Crews, the No. 3 prospect in Major League Baseball, for his debut on Monday night against the New York Yankees. The 22-year-old Crews, drafted No. 2 overall by Washington last summer, has excelled in the minor leagues, batting .272 with 13 homers and 68 RBIs in 99 games this season for Double-A Harrisburg and Triple-A Rochester.

Crews will join 21-year-old James Wood in Washington's young outfield, as the Nationals continue their rebuilding efforts. General manager Mike Rizzo has been focused on developing young talent, trading away key players like Trea Turner and Max Scherzer in recent years.

Nationals manager Dave Martinez praised Crews' consistency and performance, highlighting his improved hitting and solid defense. Martinez expressed optimism about Crews' potential impact on the team's future success.

With Crews joining Wood and Jacob Young in the outfield, Washington aims to strengthen its lineup and build towards a competitive future. Crews, a standout player in college baseball, received the prestigious Golden Spikes Award as the nation's top amateur player before signing with Washington for a significant bonus.

The Nationals, who won the World Series in 2019, have been in a rebuilding phase and are looking to cultivate a new core of talented players. Crews' arrival in the majors represents a significant milestone in the team's ongoing transformation.

As Washington continues to prioritize the development of young talent, Crews' debut is a significant step forward in shaping the team's future direction. Fans eagerly anticipate Crews' first game in the majors and look forward to witnessing his contributions to the Nationals' evolving roster.
