Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers lost their second consecutive game to opponents who they were heavily favoured to defeat with a loss to the Washington Commanders on Sunday.
The Commanders were forced to play with their back-up quarterback with Carson Wentz ruled out, as Taylor Heinicke stepped in and did enough to get his team to 23 points - which the Packers could not match. Aaron Rodgers performed well, but was once again let down by a number of drops as his receivers have failed to step up after they had traded away superstar Davante Adams - Rodgers' most reliable target over the last seven years.
Rodgers was forced to rely on his running-back with Aaron Jones registering two receiving touchdowns in the game as second-round rookie Christian Watson, who Rodgers has said he sees similarities to Adams, and Randall Cobb missed the game through injury.
The Packers were able to fight back and take it to the last snap, as they frantically looked to lateral the ball backwards in order to get to the endzone with no time left on the clock, but ultimately failed - falling to their third consecutive defeat following losses to the New York Giants and New York Jets.
After last week's loss to the Jets, rookie sensation Ahmad 'Sauce' Gardner was seen taunting Packers fans whilst wearing a cheese head hats - which fans are seen wearing at games.
The state of Wisconsin produces more cheese than any other state, with Green Bay honouring this by wearing the cheese head hats.
And after seeing Gardner do this after the win last week, Commanders players did the same to rub salt in the wounds, with defensive backs Benjamin St-Juste and Kameron Curl donning the cheese heads in the locker room following the win. The Commanders players posted images of themselves with the hats on their Instagram pages.
After Sauce Gardner had worn the hat, Packers receiver Allen Lazard was quick to take exception as he ripped the hat off his head, with Gardner coming back on to the field to taunt the fans once again.
The Packers have now fallen to a 3-4 record after being 3-1 at the beginning of the month. They are now two wins behind first placed Minnesota Vikings, and will face arguably the toughest team in the league next week when they travel to upstate New York to face Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills.
