Washington's wildfire smoke alert has widened again, and it now overlaps with a heat advisory covering much of western Washington.
The air quality alert covers seven counties: Grays Harbor, King, Kitsap, Mason, Pierce, Snohomish and Thurston. It runs until 5 p.m. Thursday. The heat advisory runs until 10 p.m. Thursday, with the National Weather Service forecasting highs of 85 to 90 degrees across the affected zones and overnight lows of 58 to 62.
