While it might seem a bit of an absurd thing to ask given the Virginia alum won his first Sixth Man of the Year award on his way to helping Boston Celtics win a total of 57 games in the 2022-23 regular season and falling a win short of a return to the NBA Finals, there are some who are wondering whether the trade for Malcolm Brogdon was a failure for Boston.
With the ball club falling short of its ultimate goal of hanging the elusive Banner 18 for the Celtics, however, there is a case to be made that the cost of the deal contrasted to the bit of a spot having his deal on the books could put Boston in under the league’s new collective bargaining agreement, there is some logic to this point of view.
