Warzone 2 Season 3 has (sort of) brought back the legendary Intervention sniper rifle from the original 2009 version of Modern Warfare 2, but you'll need to put in the work to unlock the FJX Imperium if you don't want to splash the cash.
The latest Warzone 2 update has seen one-shot sniper rifles finally return to the game, following months of constant pleas from the Call of Duty community – as well as a trial run during the St Patrick's Day event. The FJX Imperium sniper is a reworked, re-imagined version of the legendary Intervention sniper from the original Modern Warfare 2, and has finally made its return in 2022's Modern Warfare 2 (which is not a confusing naming scheme at all) as a part of Warzone 2 Season 3.
We now know thanks to the Warzone 2 Season 3 patch notes that the FJX Imperium won't be the only one-shot sniper, as it was revealed that most other snipers will also be getting much-needed buffs. Bolt-action weapons equipped with explosive ammunition are now able to down fully-armoured players in one shot, meaning most snipers will be viable now regardless. Even so, we've figured out the quickest way to unlock the brand-new FJX Imperium sniper, and are here to help you out.
How to unlock the FJX Imperium one-shot sniper in Warzone 2
The FJX Imperium one-shot sniper is available in the Warzone 2 Season 3 Battle Pass and can be found in section C4 of the Battle Pass map. You don't need to have paid for the Battle Pass to get the weapon as it's available as one of the free items. You'll need at least 15 Battle Pass tokens to unlock the weapon, these can be earned by simply playing games and eventually, you'll have amassed enough to unlock the weapon.
Be sure to turn off the Auto option under your tokens on the Battle Pass menu as it may spend tokens on unwanted items and make the process longer. Of course, if you just want to unlock the sniper straight away, you can always purchase the Battle Pass.
To get to the FJX Imperium for free, on section C4, you'll need to fully complete two other sections of the Battle Pass map. You start in area C1 which features the Course Champion weapon blueprint. Once you've spent five tokens to unlock everything in C1 you'll have the option to go to either section C2 or C3, you'll want to go to C2 which features the Takedown operator skin. Repeat the process in C2 and unlock everything there with five of your Battle Pass tokens and you'll be given the option to move on to area C4 or C6, with C4 housing the FJX Imperium. Once you've moved on to section C4 just follow the same steps and spend five more of your Battle Pass tokens and that's it. You will have now unlocked the FJX Imperium sniper rifle.
Another option – exclusively for DMZ players – is to extract the weapon from an exclusion zone infiltration and you'll be able to keep it for use in DMZ mode. This method is quicker, but you'll be unable to bring the weapon into the standard Battle Royale, Resurgence, regular Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer, or the upcoming Plunder game mode.
There you go, unlocking the FJX Imperium is as simple as that. All that's left to do now is blast the Skrillex and get your quick shot compilation uploaded to YouTube to relive the glory days of the Intervention in 2009's Modern Warfare 2.
