The Golden State Warriors had a solid draft night by selecting Santa Clara guard Brandin Podziemski and Indiana forward Trayce Jackson-Davis. Those two young talented players will join Steph Curry and Chris Paul as the Warriors look to remain contenders.
Golden State also added an undrafted free agent to the roster, DePaul forward Javan Johnson. The 6-foot-6 wing player averaged 14.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.4 assists while shooting 41.2% from deep on 6 attempts in the 2022-23 season for the Blue Demons.
Johnson, 24, played for three college programs. He started his collegiate career at Troy before transferring to Iowa State, where he redshirted his first season. He transferred to DePaul in the 2021-22 season but played only 10 games due to a hand injury.
The Warriors and Johnson agreed on a one-year deal.

Johnson will likely spend the 2023-24 season in the G League, but it’s obvious the Warriors see something in him. He can be another nice piece of this Golden State team going forward.
