Warriors Stars React to Steph Curry Leaving Game With Ankle Injury

Every member of the Golden State Warriors likely held their breath when they saw star guard Stephen Curry suffer an injury after twisting his ankle during the fourth quarter of the team’s 125–122 loss to the Chicago Bulls on Thursday night at the Chase Center.

Curry left the game after twisting his ankle. Following the contest, Curry’s fellow Warriors stars Klay Thompson and Draymond Green reacted to the injury. The former acknowledged that the team is “going to miss” the sensational sharpshooter if he is sidelined, per Kendra Andrews of ESPN

“I know we’re going to miss him if he does need time off,” Thompson said. “We’ve been in this position before where he has had time off, and we just got to do it collectively. I know he’ll be ready to go when he does come back, whenever that is. We just wish him a speedy recovery.”

Green echoed a similar sentiment, saying that the Warriors must “do the best” they can in getting through a period of time without Curry, should he be absent from the lineup.

“It sucks, but everybody deals with injuries. You’ve just got to do the best you can in dealing with it,” Green said.

Curry rolled his ankle on a drive attempt in the fourth quarter, then exited the game after attempting to walk the injury off. The 35-year-old will have imaging done on his ankle on Friday, according to Andrews.

The 10-time All-Star is averaging 26.9 points, 4.9 assists and 4.4 rebounds while shooting 40.7 percent from three-point range in 59 games played for Golden State.
