The Golden State Warriors will open the 2023 preseason with a familiar opponent.
After a series loss to the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round of the postseason, the Warriors’ preseason campaign begins with a rematch.
Circle your calendars. On Oct. 7, the Warriors will welcome LeBron James and the Lakers to Chase Center for their preseason opener. Six days later, the Warriors will travel to Hollywood for another preseason tilt against the Lakers.
The Warriors also get another playoff rematch in the preseason with two games against the Sacramento Kings, their opponent from the first round of the 2023 postseason.

While the Warriors added Chris Paul, Dario Saric, Brandin Podziemski, Cory Joseph and Trayce Jackson-Davis to their roster for the 2023-24 campaign, the Lakers brought in Gabe Vincent, Cam Reddish, Taurean Prince, Jaxson Hayes and Jalen Hood-Schifino.
The Lakers eliminated the Warriors in six games in the second round of the 2023 Western Conference postseason in May.
