Steph Curry was forced to leave the game after rolling his ankle in the fourth quarter of the Golden State Warriors‘ loss to the Chicago Bulls. The veteran guard underwent an MRI to investigate the injury and ensure no significant damage. The imaging also allows the Warriors medical staff to assess how long the All-Star guard will be sidelined.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Curry’s MRI came back clear, which will boost the mood of the Warriors coaching staff and fan base. Wojnarowski also noted a timeline for Curry’s return will become clearer once the medical staff see how his ankle responds to treatment over the next few days.
Curry has been exceptional for Golden State this season. In 59 games, he’s averaging 26.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.9 assists while shooting 44.9% from the field and 40.7% from 3-point range.

The Warriors face the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday. That game will come too soon for Curry, meaning Steve Kerr will need to alter his rotations. As such, we will likely see Chris Paul slide into the starting lineup until Curry is cleared to return to the rotation.
