Warriors’ Draymond Green Details Steph Curry’s ’Never-Dying Passion’ to Defeat Father Time

You’d be hard pressed to find someone who respects Stephen Curry’s game as much as Warriors teammate Draymond Green. That much was made obvious by Green’s recent comment on Curry, in which he heaped praise on the sharpshooting guard for his drive, motivation and ability to do something very few athletes can—defeat Father Time.

“I think he’s one of the most special people you’ll be around. When you look at Steph, he’s nice, right? He smiles. He’s the golden child. He’s all of these things, the babyface assassin, you name it. Underneath all of that? It’s like a never-dying passion that’s just burning, raging—and he works, as hard as I’ve ever seen anybody work,” Green said of Curry on SiriusXM NBA Radio.

“… For him, like you can just watch him. He’s trying to defeat age. It’s evident to me every day. … This dude continues to work harder and harder, like this dude’s trying to defeat age. We all know Father Time is undefeated, and guess what he’s doing right now? He’s beating those odds right now.”

Green’s not wrong, as Curry averaged 29.4 points per game last season—the third-best mark of his career. He did it at age 34 and doesn’t show any sign of slowing down.

Golden State opens the 2023-24 regular season at home against the Suns on Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET.
