Warriors’ Brandin Podziemski lands in top 5 of ESPN’s NBA rookie power rankings

Coming off his first appearance in the NBA’s Rising Stars game at All-Star weekend in Indiana, Golden State Warriors rookie Brandin Podziemski is continuing to receive high praise.

In the latest set of NBA rookie power rankings from ESPN, the No. 19 overall pick from the 2023 draft landed in the top five. Both of ESPN’s Bobby Marks and Kevin Pelton ranked Podziemski as a top-five rookie through February of the 2023-24 season.

Marks listed Podziemski at No. 3 overall, trailing only No. 1 overall pick Victor Wembanyama and Oklahoma City Thunder breakout forward Chet Homlgren.

Pelton ranked Podziemski at No. 4 behind Wembanyama, Dallas Mavericks center Dereck Lively II and 2023 No. 2 overall pick Brandon Miller.

Both Marks and Pelton praised Podziemski’s playmaking and ability to stuff the box score.
