Following their eight-game homestand, the Golden State Warriors are set for a five-game road swing. Before they start their road trip with a game against the San Antonio Spurs on Friday, the Warriors are sending one of their young prospects to the G League.
On Wednesday, the Warriors assigned rookie forward Patrick Baldwin Jr. to G League Santa Cruz. Baldwin Jr. will join fellow rookie Ryan Rollins with G League Santa Cruz.

Baldwin played 10 or more minutes in three consecutive games before not playing at all in Golden State’s loss to the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday at San Francisco’s Chase Center.
With Andrew Wiggins, Jonathan Kuminga, Steph Curry and Andre Iguodala missing time due to injury, Steve Kerr gave the rookie an opportunity in the rotation. However, with Wiggins, Iguodala and Curry returning, Golden State’s veteran depth throughout the rotation has grown.
During his recent appearances with the Warriors, Baldwin has impressed, scoring eight or more points in four of his last five games. Baldwin has shown off his smooth jumper from deep, hitting at least one 3 in five straight appearances for the Warriors.
In 13 games with the Warriors, Baldwin is averaging 5.4 points on 42.9% shooting from the field and 43.2% from long distance in 8.8 minutes per game.
The G League Warriors will open a set of back-to-back games against the Sioux Falls Skyforce on Thursday in Santa Cruz.
