Scammers wearing hi-vis vests are masquerading as security on Irish Rail trains.
Passengers have been urged to stay vigilant in a major warning by Irish Rail. In a Twitter post, a spokesperson for Irish Rail said these fraudsters have been spotted onboard the Northern Commuter/DART line.
Passengers have been advised to ask for ID if approached for tickets or when being issued fines. The spokesperson said: "Passengers are advised that there are members of the public wearing non-Irish Rail hi-vis vests and masquerading as members of the RPU onboard the Northern commuter/DART line.
"Passengers are advised to confirm ID when approached for tickets/being issued with onboard fines."
