Businesses within the hospitality sector that use oil have received a warning after a notable increase in oil thefts across Rushcliffe. On Friday, April 21, Nottinghamshire Police warned businesses that use, possess and store oil to be "vigilant" due to the thefts.
The thefts have been reported across the Rushcliffe area, including in Bingham, Radcliffe, Cotgrave, Leake and Keyworth. In a Facebook post, Rushcliffe South Police stated: "Officers would like to make members of our local community aware of a recent increase in theft of oil.
"From information received, those being targeted for such thefts appear to be local Public houses, takeaway premises and restaurants. Officers are asking those who store, use and posses such items to be vigilant and store these items securely to prevent any other locations being targeted."
