Irish customers who shop in TK Maxx are being warned of an item being sold that, when broken, may release a mineral that is toxic when inhaled.
The item included in this recall is a Yellow Orpiment Mineral Bookend, sold nationwide.
According to the CCPC’s warning, anyone who has purchased this product could be at risk due to this chemical. They explained: “The product contains a toxic mineral that may cause skin irritation if ingested or inhaled”.

The brand included in the recall is Taizhou Art and Home and the model type is Yellow Orpiment Mineral Bookend. The batch number is unknown for this product.
It is understood that only four affected products have been sold to customers in Ireland and they're asked to only handle it with gloves on and to bring it back in a sealed packet for refund.
The full recall notice reads: “TJX Ireland Unlimited Company t/a TK Maxx and Homesense recalls Yellow Orpiment Mineral Bookend.
“The risk presented by the product is chemical. The product contains a toxic mineral that may cause skin irritation if ingested or inhaled.
“The brand is Taizhou Art and Home. The type/model number is Yellow Orpiment Mineral Bookend. The batch number is unknown.
“There are approximately 4 affected products in the Republic of Ireland”.
What to do:
Customers should stop using the product immediately and return it to any TK Maxx or Homesense store for a full refund.
You should use protective gloves when handling the product and keep it in a sealed package for return.
