iPhone users should be aware of a scam attempting to trick people out of their money.
Both Android and Apple users have reported receiving a text message from a contact pretending to be Apple Pay. The message suggests users will be unable to access their account unless they reactivate it.
One text an iPhone user received read: "Your Apple Pay has been disabled. You can re-enable contactless payments by visiting my-apple-wallet-id10.com."

However, the link does not direct you to Apple or an Apple Pay page. Instead, it takes you to a page aimed at collecting personal data.
You should never give any personal information, such as your name, address, bank details, email or phone number, to organisations or people before verifying their credentials.
If you have received or later receive a message like this, do not click on any links or reply to the text. It's important to remember, email addresses, links and phone numbers can be spoofed, so don't use those as a means to verify that a message or call is authentic.
According to Apple, if you're suspicious about an unexpected message, call or request for personal information or money, it's safer to presume that it's a scam and contact that company directly if you need to. If you're concerned about a security issue with your Apple device, you can get help from Apple.
To report a suspicious SMS text message that looks like it's supposed to be from Apple, take a screenshot of the message and email the screenshot to reportphishing@apple.com.
