Dog owners are being urged to return a popular brand dog UK dog food as it is feared that it may contain small pieces of metal. The warning which has been issued pleads owners of four-legged friends to check if they have any affected tins of the product, and if so, to not feed them to their pooch.
Sharp or pointy objects have the potential to perforate a dog's intestines if consumed, and immediate veterinary care should be sought if your pet has eaten even small fragments of metal. This has led manufacturers Encore to recall their Beef Selection in Gravy multipack dog food, as the Beef Steak with Potatoes in Gravy tin could potentially contain these.
Customers in possession of the product have instead been advised to return the item to the shop they bought it from for a full refund. The Manchester Evening News reports that the Food Standards Agency have also in-turn released a statement regarding this product.
