Warning to all drivers to stop filling their petrol tanks after the first 'click'

Drivers have been warned against filling their petrol tanks past the first 'click'.

Motorists in Scotland and across the UK could be wasting money, and even worse, causing their vehicles up to £500 worth of damage, according to our sister title the MEN.

Graham Conway, managing director of UK leasing firm Select Car Leasing, told the paper that squeezing the fuel pump after the first click - known as 'topping off' - might seem worthwhile - but it 'really isn't.'
