Warning issued over 'dangerous' TikTok cost of living heating hack

TikTok

Experts have warned against trying a TikTok trend that claims to help warm up your house for less.

Currently, “terracotta heater uk”, “how to make a terracotta heater”, and “terracotta candle heater” are trending online. TikTok is full of tutorials for creating terracotta candle heaters, but experts have warned that this heating hack is "extremely unsafe".

The videos are encouraging people to light a few candles and place a terracotta flower pot upside down, over the candles. The pot will then heat up tremendously and will serve as a radiator, producing heat for the room.
