A woman became stuck up to her waist in mud at a popular beauty spot.
Coastguard officers from Wirral and North Wales carried out a dramatic rescue in West Kirby on Bank Holiday Monday, May 29. The woman had been stuck in mud at the south end of Marine Lake for some time before the alarm was raised at around 1.44pm.
A Hoylake RNLI hovercraft was sent to the scene where crews found the woman firmly stuck in a channel of shallow water and unable to reach the shore. Police and paramedics also attended to assist with the rescue.
