Warning as Tesco, Iceland, Sainsbury's and Waitrose items removed from shelves

Supermarkets have recalled a number of products amid safety fears this week. When a product is recalled the Food Safety Agency (FSA) informs customers on what they should do if they have bought the item, as well as detailed reasoning on why the product is being pulled from shelves, fridges or freezers.

Iceland, Sainsbury's, Tesco and Waitrose have recalled items in recent weeks, with customers warned not to eat them and return them to the store for a full refund. You do not need to have your receipt to get your money back.

Popular items have been recalled from Tesco, Iceland, Sainsbury's and Waitrose recently, as reported by Liverpool Echo. These are:

Grated cheddar cheese

Tesco customers are being urged "please do not consume" a particular cheese product that has now been pulled from store fridges.

A Tesco notice reads: "We’re recalling one date code of Tesco Creamfields grated cheddar 500g. This is because it may contain small pieces of clear, soft plastic which could make the product unsafe to eat."
