Scammers are posing as loved ones and are taking advantage of the cost of living crisis to defraud people out of money.
They pretend to be friends and family and ask for financial support with energy bills through text or messaging services like WhatsApp.
TSB has recorded a 58 percent increase in this type of scam in July compared with the same month a year earlier.
