The confrontation occurred near Parliament’s Makar Dwar, where Rahul Gandhi and several Congress MPs had gathered to protest the suspension of eight Opposition members during the ongoing Budget Session. As Ravneet Singh Bittu, a former Congress MP who joined the BJP in 2024, walked past the protesting MPs, he made a sarcastic remark, saying, “Ye Kargil ki jung jeet ke aaye hain” (as if they have won the Kargil war).
Rahul Gandhi responded sharply, pointing towards Bittu and calling him a “traitor,” adding, “Here is a traitor walking right by. Look at the face.” He then attempted to shake hands with Bittu, saying, “Hello brother, my traitor friend. Don’t worry, you will come back (to Congress).”
