In a recent interview, writer Michael Brandt shared insights about the potential sequel to the 2008 film Wanted, starring Angelina Jolie and James McAvoy. Brandt disclosed that a script for Wanted 2 exists, and both he and director Timur Bekmambetov are eager to bring it to fruition. However, differing creative visions have stalled the project.
Brandt expressed enthusiasm for the sequel, stating that the script was well-received and offered a fitting continuation of the original movie. Despite occasional interest from producers, the momentum for Wanted 2 has waned due to studio turnover and conflicting ideas about the direction of the film.
