For many Indians, working in Japan may sound like an opportunity to earn better, learn new skills and build an international career. But getting a job there involves more than finding a vacancy and booking a flight. Applicants need to understand the work they are qualified to do, the Japanese language requirements and the visa route that fits their profile.

Its Specified Skilled Worker (SSW) programme is one route through which eligible Indians can seek jobs in approved industries. India and Japan have also been working to strengthen cooperation on skills training, recruitment and workforce mobility.
