I, like many others, watched Spider-Man: Brand New Day over the weekend. And as amazing as the movie was (don't worry, this is a spoiler-free safe space), the tech journalist in me couldn't help but immediately get excited seeing Tom Holland's Spidey using what looked to be the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 numerous times throughout the movie.
A few weeks back, I attended several Samsung press events hosted in London, and didn't see any mention of a Spider-Man X Samsung collab. Jacob Batalon (Ned Leeds in the Spider-Man franchise) even made a special guest appearance at the Galaxy Unpacked party, and I still didn't put two and two together.

Will any of the new foldables join the ranks as some of the best camera phones of 2026? The character of Ned is spotted plenty of times during Brand New Day using the new Samsung Galaxy ZFold 8 Ultra, as well as getting alerts from the Spidey Tracker that pop up on what looks to be the new Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 – though I've only seen the movie once, so I may need a re-watch to confirm the exact model.
One thing that didn't add up to me both before and after watching Spider-Man: Brand New Day is how Peter Parker can afford the new Galaxy handset, amongst his other tech collection, given that he's living in a pretty run-down New York apartment with no day job to pay the rent (why isn't he working at the Bugle?).

It seems that Spidey has some sort of fabrication tech (which looks like a fancy 3D printer) that can just...make him a phone? But then how did he afford this tech?
Perhaps Tony Stark left him a generous chunk of dosh in his will. It's not cleared up very well in the movie, but we can assume he's somewhat taken care of in the tech department at least.
