A wandering walrus which caused a town to cancel its New Year's Eve fireworks over worries it could be scared has turned up 100 miles further up the North Sea coast.
The large walrus, nicknamed "Thor," was spotted at Scarborough harbour on December 30th - attracting crowds who wanted to catch a glimpse of the animal, which is normally found in the Arctic Circle.
It's thought the walrus could have come from as far away as Canada, and is likely to be "wandering" before making his way back to his Arctic habitat. Today a large crowd quickly gathered in the Northumberland town of Blyth at lunchtime after a walrus was spotted resting on a wooden pontoon at the yacht club.
