Walmart Shoppers Urged to Check Freezers After Listeria Testing Prompts Recall of Two Alfredo Pasta Lots

A frozen pasta dish sold at Walmart stores nationwide has been pulled from distribution after state laboratories found that finished packages may carry Listeria monocytogenes. Gias Foods of New York recalled two lots of bettergoods Authentic Italian Lemon Alfredo Fettuccine, and the FDA posted the recall announcement on September 15.

No illnesses have been reported. That fact is central to how households should read this recall: it is a precaution triggered by routine government sampling, not a response to people getting sick.
