Wallaroos hope World Cup hero is fit for US showdown

Desiree Miller began with dazzle and ended in a daze, but Australia's Wallaroos are hopeful their brilliant treble-scoring winger will still be fit to torment the United States in the match that's going to define their Rugby World Cup ambitions.

Miller, the former gymnast and dancer who once tripped the light fantastic at Disneyland, quickly shone again on the global sporting stage on Saturday when her speedy first-half hat-trick ignited the Aussie women to crush plucky Samoa 73-0 in their record-breaking 11-try Pool A romp.

Miller's quicksilver skills, both on the left wing and then when she popped up on the right in support to complete her hat-trick within the first 33 minutes, again demonstrated why she is such a potent weapon for the Wallaroos.
