Essendon have given up their No.9 draft pick to bring Brooke Walker to the Hangar, ending the multi-talented athlete's five-year AFLW stint at Carlton.
Walker, who represented Australia in rugby sevens and played for Parramatta in the 2022 NRL women's season, played 26 games for the Blues.
Known for her relentless defence while being able to hit the scoreboard, Bombers AFLW List and Recruiting Manager Georgia Harvey was delighted to acquire the 28-year-old's services.
"Brooke has excellent speed and athleticism, which has not only been on display throughout her AFLW career but also while representing Australia in rugby sevens and Parramatta Eels in the NRLW," Harvey said.
"We can't wait to see what Brooke produces for us in the red and black."
The trade sees the Blues currently hold selections No.5, 9, 23 and 41 in this year's draft.
Carlton also announced emerging talents Maddy Guerin, Keely Sherar and Brooke Vickers had committed for another two years, keeping them at IKON Park until at least the end of 2024.
It followed the signings of Mimi Hill, Breann Moody and captain Kerryn Peterson, who all re-committed last week.
The 2023 AFLW Sign and Trade period closes on Monday, March 20 at 5pm, while the draft will be held on April 4.
