A beauty spot was closed to the public after a walker was injured by a deer. A male red stag was said to have approached the man in Wollaton Park in Nottingham, despite him keeping a safe distance.
As reported by NottinghamshireLive, the park was shut for two hours on Sunday as a result of the incident near the golf course. It occurred at about 8.15am and the walker had reportedly kept away from the animals.
A Nottingham City Council spokesman said: "The visitor was taken to hospital as a precaution and we understand that, thankfully, their injuries are not serious. A vet was called to put down the deer shortly afterwards before the park reopened to the public.”
