Here is how the Manchester Evening News City fans want the Blues to line-up today.
Goalkeeper - Ederson
No real surprises with this selection as the Brazilian goalkeeper has firmly established himself as the number one under Guardiola. With the shot stopper injury-free it is highly likely that the fans will get what they want in goal.
Defenders - Kyle Walker, Ruben Dias, Manuel Akanji, Joao Cancelo
John Stones picked up an injury with England on international duty versus Germany and Guardiola confirmed that he would be missing from today's fixture. Fortunately for City, Kyle Walker returned over the international break and he is ready to fill in at right-back.
Aymeric Laporte is also back and available for selection however City supporters have opted to stick with the centre-back duo which has worked so well for them in recent matches. It would be a wise strategy, considering the depth of the Blues squad, not to risk Laporte in this one.
Midfielders - Bernardo Silva, Rodri, Kevin De Bruyne
Considering that the Blues may be tasked with breaking down a resolute United defence this afternoon, City fans look to have gone with a more attacking midfield option in Bernardo Silva instead of reintroducing captain Ilkay Gundogan. Kevin De Bruyne has been on a roll this campaign and it is no surprise to see him chosen to feature alongside the Portuguese star and Rodri.
Forwards - Julian Alvarez, Erling Haaland, Phil Foden
There has been a clamour from supporters to see Julian Alvarez given his chance in the starting XI. Seen by many as the natural heir to Sergio Aguero, Alvarez has impressed off the bench and has shown Guardiola that he can play alongside Haaland.
His inclusion means that Grealish would be dropped having not done enough to impress City supporters. The rest of the front three offers no surprises as Blues fans choose their Norwegian talisman and Foden to accompany Alvarez up front.
