Wales rugby star Ellis Jenkins and his West End performer wife Sophie Evans have shared a beautiful video revealing the gender of their upcoming baby. The couple, who got married last month - days after telling everyone their wedding would be held in two years' time - said they're "so excited" to be having a baby boy.
Posting on Instagram on Saturday, Sophie shared a heart-warming clip of her baby's heartbeat before showing a clip of she and Ellis standing in their garden with a smoke cannon, as family and friends count down to their gender reveal.
After 'one,' the couple pulled the smoke cannon which released bright powdery blue smoke - signalling Sophie and Ellis' baby will be a boy. The couple, who both had an inkling they'd be having a boy, were delighted with this news and their family and friends can be seen smiling from ear to ear.
The sweet gender reveal comes just a few weeks after the loved-up couple revealed they were expecting their first child. Ellis announced the happy news on his Instagram account, posting a picture of he and Sophie with the caption holding an ultrasound photo, alongside the caption: "I’m drinking for 2 because she’s eating for 2. The heir to my throne is due December ‘22." Mirroring her partner, Sophie wrote on her account: "He’s drinking for 2 because I’m eating for 2. Baby Jenk due December ‘22."
Within minutes, the couple's Instagram pages were flooded with sweet congratulatory messages from friends and fans. Among the most well-known to share their Congratulations, Wales scrum-half Rhys Webb commented: "Congrats both awesome news," while actor Craig Gallivan said: "Wow!!!!! Amazing news. Big love to you all."
The pair got engaged on Christmas Day last year after the Cardiff skipper popped the question. Their baby son is due this December.
Ellis, from Church Village, plays for Cardiff Rugby and the Wales national team but was unfortunately cut from Wayne Pivac's Six Nations squad just four months after winning plaudits, following his triumphant Test return against South Africa last autumn.
Sophie, from Tonypandy, is an actress on the West End, having played Glinda in Wicked and Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, after placing second in the 2010 BBC talent show Over the Rainbow.
