Wales Squad Announcement: Daniel James Returns From Injury

Daniel James and Rubin Colwill have returned to the Wales squad ahead of their crucial Nations League fixtures against Turkey and Iceland in November.

Wales maintained their unbeaten start to life under Craig Bellamy with a draw against Iceland and another win against Montenegro last month, leaving them two points adrift of leaders Turkey in their Nations League group.

The Dragons return to action in November with a trip to Kayseri to take on the group-leaders on Saturday, 16 November, before returning to Cardiff to take on Iceland in their final game of the campaign on Tuesday, 19 November.

In order to top their group, and secure immediate promotion back up to League A, Bellamy’s men will likely have to win both matches, and they’ll have to do so without their captain, Aaron Ramsey, who remains out injured.

Also unavailable are Leeds’ Ethan Ampadu and Swansea’s Ollie Cooper, the latter being ruled out for roughly three months after suffering a stress fracture in his foot last week.

Returning to the squad though, handing Wales a major boost, is Daniel James. The Leeds winger made his return from a hamstring injury last month, and netted his first goal since September in the 3-0 win over Plymouth on Saturday.

Cardiff City attacking midfielder Rubin Colwill has also been rewarded with a recall after impressing at club level in recent weeks, while Wolves goalkeeper Tom King also makes his return to the national team setup.

Fresh off the back of netting an incredible two injury-time goals as a substitute to win the West London Derby for Fulham on Monday night, Wales’ star man Harry Wilson retains his position in the squad, with the 27-year-old boasting three goals and one assist in four Nations League appearances thus far this term.
