Wales has retained its place on the 2025 European Rally Championship calendar which will feature a brand new event in Spain next year.
The ERC schedule once again features eight events comprising five asphalt and three gravel rallies, beginning in April with the season finishing in October.
Following a successful debut this year, the Rali Ceredigion asphalt event in Wales will once again host the penultimate round, albeit held at a slightly later 5-7 September date.
The event was won by Hayden Paddon, who clinched the 2024 ERC title at last month's Rally Silesia season finale.
The season will kick off with a new addition to the ERC following the inclusion of Rallye Internacional Sierra Morena, held in Cordoba in the Andalusia region.
This asphalt rally has previously featured on the Tour European Rally Series and will effectively replace Rally Islas Canarias, which has been promoted to the WRC from 2025.
Th championship will then tackle three gravel rallies in succession courtesy of trips to Hungary, Sweden and Poland.
The latter, Rally Poland rejoins the ERC following its one-off appearance on the 2024 WRC schedule.
Rome’s asphalt will host the the fifth round in July before the series heads to the Czech Republic and Wales.
As previously reported, Croatia will join the ERC next year with the event closing out the season in October, before returning to the WRC in 2026.
“Once again we count on a calendar that’s the perfect mix of long-standing rallies with those making their mark on the international stage,” said Iain Campbell, the ERC championship manager.
“We’re very excited to welcome Rallye Internacional Sierra Morena to the ERC for the first time and also delighted that Croatia Rally and Rally Poland are returning for what promises to be another action-packed schedule of events.
“Indeed, all rallies on the calendar offer a unique and exciting challenge and we’re very fortunate that we continue to work in tandem with our hardworking and dedicated event organisers to deliver a championship that holds such widespread appeal for fans and competitors alike.”
This year Rally Estonia featured on the schedule but it has moved back to the WRC in place of Rally Latvia, while the latter has seemingly lost its place in both the WRC and ERC schedules.
